The idea behind the Time Capsule project was to create a reverse time capsule. Make a real box in the style of an art movement or artist from history and fill it with works inspired by their designs as well as examples of their work and historical timelines.
The theme of my capsule was 40s and 50s American design but specifically the work of Saul Bass who I researched heavily for the project. My poster design draws heavily from his poster designs for the movies 'Vertigo' and 'Anatomy of a Murder'. The timeline in the gatefold leaflet was inspired by his design for 'The Man with the Golden Arm' poster, showing a crooked and crudely drawn black arm.
